I used to shave with the Gillette twin blade razor. That is, until they came out with the triple blade 'system' - when I switched over to that. After a while they came out with the Quattro and I said, "What the heck, lets keep up with the times". Finally, when Gillette introduced the Schtick (or some such monstrosity) a bulb went on in my head. It seems to me that they want to innovate for the sake of innovation.

That's when I decided to try out the old tried and tested solution and know what? I am never going back. It used to take me atleast 4-5 rinses every time I shave using a multiple blade 'system'. That's because the blades are so close together that hair gets trapped between the blades. They promise you a closer shave and all that, but I haven't seen any difference.

My double edged razor - the same one that my dad and probably his dad used to shave with - gives me a very close shave and I only rinse once and even then I just hold it under water and all the hair is gone. With the Gillettes I used to have to rub it with my fingers to get all the hair off!

Not the least is the feeling of manliness you get when you shave with a double edged razor. Yes, it's not a straight edge, but this is why I like it. It is innovation where they've made a good product (straight edge) better and safer!

I use a Merkur Long Handled Safety Razor with these blades. Best decision I've made in a long time.

This product is wonderful. Each one of the 100 razor works just fine with the cheapo straightblades I bought off ebay a few months ago for 8 dollars, and they even come with receptacles for used blades, that way you don't kill cute furry animals that live in the landfills, and the garbagemen get to keep their appendages.

If you want "the best a man can get" then this is it. These blades are great! They are manufactured in Germany and are very well-made. With Wilkinson I use a Merkur Classic "Barber Pole" long safety razor which I got here from Amazon. I brush on a little sandalwood shave cream and a few smooth moves later I'm soft as a baby's... well, you know. It's nice to engage in one of those forgotten rituals that remind a man why it's great to be a man. Proper shaving has become a lost art for most men, but it doesn't have to be for you. Today's average man hasn't a clue about the fine art of the traditional wet shave that our grandfathers used to take part in because we've been conditioned to accept the cheap and disposable multi-blades that companies market today - because it makes them rich, not because it's a better product. While I hear that getting one of the variety blade packs is best for a new safety-razor shaver, this deal was too good to pass up so I had to order it.

These blades are incredibly sharp. They come in a big green thin cardboard box and there's 20 little plastic boxes inside with 5 razors each. On other blade-holders you get a slot on the bottom to put your old blades when they get dull, that is not the case here. The bottom is solid and instead you have to open the little flapdoor in order to take out AND put in (old) blades. There are 2 compartments in the main compartment, one for new, one for old. That's not an issue, just saying how these are different from other blades I have used.

These blades are incredibly sharp, and I would definitely say that they are sharper than the Sharks that came with my safety razor when I bought it. The blades are great.

The Arko soap is the main draw for me to this deal. I thought it would be terrible and messy. It's not. It's honestly kind of amazing to rip a little bit of the foil off one end, wet your face, wet the stick, rub the stick on your face and get no lather or way of knowing you have soap on your face whatsoever, and then take your wet brush and smother your face with it and all of a suddenly lather magically forms on your face and brush, enough for like 3 passes. A little goes a long way and its really great but you need to watch the moisture content of your brush as you are building the lather right on your face and there's no way of knowing its too wet until it starts dripping all over your sink off your face. Everyone in my household loves the smell (except the dog and the cats who ran away). It's honestly really strong, but not unpleasant. It kind of smells like that blue toiletbowl cleaner that they always doublewrap at the grocery store because the stuff is so caustic. It smells like that except more fresh and manly like musky Dove soap I guess. Let the stick dry when you're done, and don't be messy and it wont fall apart. It's honestly not that easy to ruin and even if you do it's cheap. I read some people smash it into a bowl and use it like a traditional shave soap. I don't get why you would do that when the stickform is so convenient. NO BOWL NO MUG just the stick and your brush. After using Arko I kind of feel that building lather in a mug is a waste of time. I wish Proraso had a shave-stick.

With as cheap as the blades are, you can use a fresh blade every time you shave. With as cheap and great as the Arko is, you don't have to waste money trying other fancy shaving soaps and getting a sub-par shave. Arko, and C.O. Bigelow and these blades are wonderful. You don't need anything else.

SO glad i switched back to the old school of shaving. avereage out 100 blades almost comes out to .13 cents per 3 time of shaving. I laugh everytime Change blades now. THe MOck 3 blades where so expensive that you would be using them longer to save money and getting a bad shave And waste of $$$.
NOw i use SHark blades max 3 times. Its so affordable that i dont hesitate to change blades.Havent tried other blades but so far happy with SHark super CHromes stopped looking for others.ONce you relearn how to shave theres no going back to the MOck 3 racket$$$$.

Opinions seem to vary wildly when it comes to DE blades, but I found Crystals to be one of the best performing brands for my face. For context, I've tried Derby, red pack Personnas, Astra, Iridiums, Gillette 7 O'clock, Shark, Dorco, Lord, and Bic. It's my understanding the Crystals are rebranded Israeli Personnas, which I've also tried and liked a lot.

I just graduated from college and feel like I'm moving on to the next stages of my life as a man. I can honestly say that I get excited about shaving! I feel like I'm using a tried and true product rather than the disposable, multiple blade systems that leave my skin irritated and burned. I am please with these as an everyday go to work shave. But there
are better in the price area. I could not get a last me till 7-8 PM shave.
I purposely rise 15 min early to enjoy the process of shaving.
I should have done it more often. I think it headed off the morning
rush-rush and I would have made better decisions to start the day.

I've been using Wilkinson razors since 1967 and only stopped when I broke my old safety razor.

Found the very nice Parker butterfly on Amazon and bought this size pack for the price and to have enough on hand (Can't be found locally.)
These blades rate alongside of their competitor blade in giving a close, smooth shave without the burn and redness that the new multi-blade razors tend to leave.

And the price is much, much lower. I have a course, heavy beard and I can get about 5 or 6 shaves per blade.
I only get about three or four with the top of the line multi-blade.

If you're considering a switch, it may take a few weeks to adjust but I think you'll find it worth the effort.

Okay, I'm old school and I don't like shaving with a razor that looks like it could beam Spock aboard, but the bottom line is comfort and price and less to go into the land fill.
